By the age of seven, children should see an orthodontist. At Terpstra Orthodontics, your child's initial introductory visit to our orthodontist office is FREE! This is provided to you, as a parent, so you know your child will have healthy teeth for life.
By the age of seven, some permanent teeth have begun to fill in, but they are not yet too firmly rooted, nor is the jaw so hardened that it is difficult to reshape. Moving teeth is faster and more effective at a young age. It is also possible to guide the placement of incoming teeth.
A few crooked teeth can be easily realigned at an early age, but if left alone, they might move to push other teeth out of alignment and cause additional problems. Early treatment can prevent extensive dental procedures later in life.
Dr. Terpstra's hands-on approach to orthodontics sets his young patients at ease. His thorough explanation of the process to his patients educates them on the benefits of the procedure. The results are in the smiles he brings to each of them.
Dr. Terpstra always says, "We treat smiles one at a time, your smile is as impoortant to us as it is to you."
